Long Island and Robert Moses: A 40th Anniversary Exploration

Join us on March 2 and 3, 2012 for a two-day residency celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Long Island Center and the completion of the Long Island Expressway. Group studies, panels and our keynote spaker will provide students with the opportunity to examine the legacy of Robert Moses and the history and evolution of life on Long Island during the past 40 years.

The keynote speaker on Friday evening will be Dr. Lee E. Koppelman, who worked with real estate developer Robert Moses as head of the Long Island State Park Commission. Moses has been called the "master builder" of mid-20th century New York City, Long Island, Rockland County and Westchester County.
