SUNY Empire Participates in Wreaths Across America Event

by Timothy Cosgriff, Director of Community Events

On Saturday, December 19, SUNY Empire faculty, staff, students, and alumni participated in the national Wreaths Across America event to honor our military heroes from the Revolutionary War to present-day conflicts. The event coordinates wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery and at more than 2,100 additional locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea, and abroad.

Participants included alumnus and current graduate student Raul Rodriguez '17 (pictured) at a Florida cemetery. Rodriguez served in the U.S. Navy and Air Force and is a retired NYPD detective. He was also a first responder at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.

Thank you to all who participated in this important event.
